Our Mission

EMPOWERMENT THROUGH EDUCATION TRUST (E-T-E) :

The E-T-E Fund aims to sponsor the complete education, Grade 1 through tertiary education, of initially five children each year from both Masakhane Creche in Masiphumelele and Green Curtains Pre-Primary School in Ocean View, both in Cape Town's South Peninsula.

Children from each pre-school who exhibit the most talent, determination and potential will be selected by the teachers and E-T-E Board with the approval, support and consent of all parents.

The E-T-E Fund will pay for and monitor the education of each child, with a small contribution from their parents and from the schools to ensure the buy-in and full commitment of all parties.

With 2 more Children for 2014, we now have 18 Children in our program.

2015-02-17

2015 has started with great excitement! New teachers for all, new school for Jason, and a brand new, precious, bright little grade one, Tamia Lamb. We now have 7 grade 6’s at Sun Valley Primary. Jason joined the students here, as we felt it would be beneficial for him to start learning in English as he will be moving on to an English speaking high school after grade 7. He has settled in very easily and has adjusted very well indeed. I am SO proud of him! We also have 6 grade 5’s and they seem to all love their new teachers and are meeting the challenge of increased concepts and work load. In grade 4 we have two students, 1 in grade three, 2 in grade two and then Tamia in grade one. All in all, we are 19 ETE children.
